The one thing about making pumpkin pie for the first time is they are very temperamental when cooking. Sometimes the crust will cook, and the pie itself won't be done so the crust sometimes comes out a little more done. Other than that I love making homemade pumpkin pies! They to me taste better, plus I like mine with a little more spices.
Yeah, that's something I would be concerned about. How do you tweak things so that they cook at the same rate? I don't want a soupy pie filling or overdone crust :< I love it when it's got more spice too
That all depends on your oven really. I think the first time I made a homemade pumpkin pie it did kind of burn because I just set the time to what it said in the recipe. If you do try it, its fun to make but something you should do before Thanksgiving since I'm guessing you want to do it for that. ^^
Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll make a test pie first. I haven't been able to figure out if my oven cooks too hot or too low. I think it's usually pretty accurate. I always check things a couple minutes before it says to though, just in case. I'd rather have something a little raw since you can put it back in usually. I hate burning stuff :<
